Flash cant find my font? Fonts in Adobe Flash CS4 on OSX

For a while now I have just skirted around the issues I have been having with fonts in flash. The font I have had problems with is not one in particular but today it was an Open Type Font. I started some R&D on this issue and I actually sent a tweet @Flash_Platform the other day on this issue. Their reply was, “@bodie_leonard With recent release of Text Layout Framework- as open source and in FP10 -fonts should get easier…Stay tuned.” but I couldn’t stay tuned! Who in the web industry can wait for today when today’s work is due yesterday . So in my research I started by downloading Font Explorer and then installing the font. I made sure the font was inside all the correct font folders, that the check mark is checked in all the places that it needed to be checked, restart all apps, restart system, login logout. All sorts of stuff to get this font to show up in flash cs4. I even tested the font in Photoshop… it worked. So what is the deal with flash. I started by searching in google but I kept getting outdated results so after watching Diggnation I tried searchhing on Bing.com and you know what it had a lot better results. I found this thread where a ton of people shared my problem.

Fix: Here is how i fixed this time costly problem. All I had to do is find out how to delete the cache on my system so inside FontExplorer in the main menu under Tools > Clean System Font Folders was the trick! Thats it, then it automatically restarted my system and I lost all the work I had open but the good news was my font was finally showing up in flash. YES!!

I hope this helped at least one person out there for this post was made possible for the greater good!

None of us can remember the last time we used Yellow Pages to get the contact information for a local business. Why would we when 411 is so much faster. Currently you probably pay $2.00 for each of those calls, until now! Her is how you bypass that ridiculous service charge for dialing 411.

We can do this by using Google Cellular, NO ADS! and Totally free.

First you send a text message to the word “GOOGLE” which is 46645. And in the message you put the name of the business or location. And the city or zip. Then you are sent in 5 seconds you are sent that contact information for that business or location. You can also do this with weather by typing “Weather then location or zip in the text message.”
